After reading Robert Dallek’s An Life Unfinished: John F. Kennedy, 1917–1963 (2001):

• I didn’t know Jackie had a miscarriage in August of 1963.

• The intense animosity between De Gaulle and Kennedy is something I now want to read more about.

• The intense, immense personality of Joseph Patrick Kennedy is now something I want to read more about.
